Cn the search for a suitable additional piece, the ensemble "Quintett Wien" approached me with the request that i should arrange this work for the instrumentation of a quintet. The now existing arrangement attempts to remain as true to the original as possible. While the dynamic was taken over from the original, a varying instrumentation should replace the magic of the string sound.
The bass and accompaning notes in the Minore I and II are always soft, floating and easy to play, the double-octaves of the flute should bring more sound, but not more volume.
Iwould like to thank my colleagues from the "Quintett Wien" for their helpful support of my work and the music publishing house of Mersich & Kiess for its friendly cooperation.
