One of Isaac Albéniz's most famous compositions is the "Suite Española" for piano. In this work the composer connects skillfully Spanish folklore with technical virtuosity which he learned from studies of Franz Liszt's piano music. Two of the in total eight pieces, "Granada" and "Aragon", because of their technical structure are especially suited for the arrangement for flute, violoncello and guitar.
Both have a lyric character and are less determined by virtuosity. The arrangement for this trio instrumentation retains the typical timbre of the music. The part of the guitar contains the fingering by the editor and is enclosed at the more difficult technical passages. Because of the lyric character of this music, the present opus is also playable by less professional musicians.
