Coincidence and the wish of an organizer led me to this unusual but also exciting arrangement for canticle and woodwind quintet. The choice of the Arias and Duets was not taken by chance, but results from the most suitable pieces, according to the key technical possibilities and complexities of the orchestral composition.
Naturally the vocal parts remained unchanged from the original, but the editor took the liberty to include the "ossia" footnotes, which are existing in the "New Mozart Edition", in the score. Dynamic marks, articulations and phrasing were taken from the original score. The occasional "marcato" markings, mostly in the clarinet part, stress the two parts to the arrangement. While rehearsing for the performance, it should be oted that the dynamic marks always relates to the total sound of the ensemble and is not relevant to the specific dynamics of the individual instruments.
